I guess Salazar is sort of like, Smith or Jones? These are all dept of Interior employees. Some work for BLM.
But where is Ken Salazar’s email?
P.S. Direct emails were also provided for each of the above. Are you thinking what I’m thinking? lol

jf, ken salazar is not an employee of the blm; he’s the secretary of the interior (blm is one of the agencies that works under the dept. of the interior). slaughterczar can be reached at feedback@ios.doi.gov
Department of the Interior
1849 C Street, N.W.
Washington DC 20240
Phone: 202-208-3100
you can also go to http://www.doi.gov/contact.html to send an emale from the dept. of the interior website.
& yeah. i would not be at all surprised if good number of those salazars above are cattle ranchin’ bubbabrothers to good ol’ ken. nepotism is alive & well in our government!

My GOD! The entire family works there! Our tax money at work, for sure!

Glad I sent my BLM response thru a “help” website posted by The Cloud Foundation: My two attempts this morning to send my response direct to Ramona et al came to this:
From: Postmaster@blm.gov
Subject: DELIVERY FAILURE: Error delivering to Ramona DeLorme/NVSO/NV/BLM/DOI; Router: Database disk quota exceeded
Date: December 2, 2009 10:56:24 AM CST
Can’t help but think it is all those emails flooding their system
December 2, 2009 at 5:01 pm
Maybe I’ll go back to Dept. of Interior and send my email to each and every Salazar listed, in case one of them “knows” Ken.

Here’s a website I had never visited before — all about Nevada’s wild mustangs: Can’t find “Calico” herd on here, tho.

sweet
December 2, 2009 at 6:44 pm
especially sweet is the comment that someone wrote under his “i met jane goodall” post….someone recommending ginger kathrens, the “jane goodall of wild horses,” be invited in to talk!
December 2, 2009 at 6:48 pm
missed that! wow
December 2, 2009 at 6:23 pm |
it’s there….go into the link for herds by alphabetical order. they have the heading for calico as well as the various ranges that are part of the calico complex (black rock east, black rock west, etc).
take a look at their chart for herd areas “identified in 1971 as part of the Wild Horse & Burro Protection Act but no longer maintained” does this mean that these herds do not exist anymore? holy $&@^. that’s a LOT of herds GONE.

I’m on my way. . .thanks j b

How can there be a horse pop in 2005 of 200 in the Calico Mtns and now there is a horse pop of almost 4,000 as they say — have we discussed this? (still have turkey poisoning)
December 2, 2009 at 11:52 pm
This weeks roundup is listed at BLM as having 20 head of horses yet they are going after 187 to take out 162 leaving 25 horses to wander the 40,700 acres that is home to their families. More turkey poisoning… mar

JF, The HMAs were BLMs invention. The herd areas were the originals but then divided up.
The Roundup beginning this week in NEVADA, next to the Sheldons, at Massacre Lake, is listed as California on the BLM Gather Schedule. It is Washoe County, Nevada. Northwest of the Calico Mountains. The HMA was listed at the Nevada BLM as having 20 head of horses. Now they are going in after 187 to capture and remove 162. That leaves about 25. This is another wonderful puzzle left us compliments of BLM. I guess horses grow on trees in Nevada. mar

http://www.amyhm.wordpress.com
don’t know where the final results will be sent, but what the heck. show your support for the wild horses any way you can. apparently the poll will only be up untiil the 16th, so click soon!

DON’T FORGET TO SIGN THE COYOTE CANYON PETITION–IT IS WAY BACK ON THIS BLOG–THEY ONLY HAVE ABOUT A THIRD OF WHAT THEY ARE TRYING TO GET. THE PETITION IS ON THE CARE
December 2, 2009 at 8:31 pm |
SOMETHING INTERRUPTED MY COMMENT–IT IS ON THE CARE 2 WEBSITE–I THINK THAT IS THE NAME. I PUT THIS IN THE COMMENTS A FEW PAGES BACK WHEN I HAD IT RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME. MAR, WHAT DO WE DO ABOUT THIS PROPOSED GATHER FOR THIS WEEK? FOR E-MAILS THAT DON’T GO THROUGH–CAN MAIL THAT HAS TO BE SIGNED FOR BE SENT?
December 2, 2009 at 9:11 pm |
louie. try sending your emale again. i tried several times and they seem to be going through now.
i think that the blm stated on their website that the comments need to be receivd by this afternoon, no later than close of business (i”m guess that means 4.30) so if you mail something now it will not get there in time.
you can also try faxing, although i have no idea what the fax number there is. good luck finding it on their website.

Louie, For the roundup this week, please call or write to CNN and ask them to do a report on a December roundup, unless BLM has said they will not stop Calico. Calico in January and Feb. seems impossible. But Oregon has 2 roundups; Palomino Buttes and Paisley. They need to be covered before the court decision. It needs to be part of the record even if it is not in Nevada, it is a roundup, current and real.
The roundup this week in Nevada, was described as being in California on the Schedule likely because the roads are remote and the horses and trucks will exit through the California border. None the less, this is a Washoe County roundup. Was there a comment period?
Continue to call the White House and Salazar. Add people like Landrieau and Grijalvas. It seems a crying shame there is no person given over to fielding the comments and the concerns of people who want to stop this mess. No one. But tax money continues to kill and destroy that which is ours and we are like beggars at the door. This is not right or democratic or American. mar
December 2, 2009 at 11:02 pm |
At CNN.com there is a new tip or form for a proposed story. Fill it out and say nothing inaccurate. They won’t respond to mistakes. Say very little if you are unsure. Have some notes and keep it specific. Like a little piece of homework. The last we heard the budget had not been cleared for the Calico Roundup so lets get in there and ask for a December roundup coverage. mar
December 3, 2009 at 12:58 am |
BLM says they will start the Calico Roundup on the 28th. But, only if a judge rules in their favor. If the judge rules in favor of Craig and In Defense of Animals the roundup and maybe others will be stopped. We have 26 days to wait this out.
It would be great to get CNN to a roundup and create a national outcry that tells the powers that be what is going down. Mar

Above listing is a great web site to look at all areas of the of cattle grazing info and included references. It doesn’t appear to me that the Wild Horses are not doing damage grazing but cattle sure seems to be affecting health of the world and negate land conditions through cattle crazing.
I’m reading a book called “Wasting the West” by Lynn Jacobs. I would recommend this book for all that want to gain insight into cattle grazing and our land need to stablize due to years of grazing. This book is an an eye opener and I spoke with Lynn Jacobs personally by phone and endorses a all the research data on the destruction of our eco-system from only cattle grazing.
