Freedom Foals Naming Contest Winners

Thank you to all who submitted names for the Freedom Fund foals. Out of the hundreds of entries, Ginger selected names submitted by our two young winners, Lily and Serena  “Annie Oakley” for the filly daughter of Mae West and Trigger and “Diablo” for Bo and Chalupa’s son. Annie, the filly, is the granddaughter of the wild mare, Belle Star, who was named for a famous western dance hall entertainer. Grandmother Belle is the full sister of Raven, Cloud’s father.  Ginger named Conquistador’s son, Diego when she first saw him and really liked the idea of his buddy being named Diablo, one of the submitted names. Hopefully these two colts will be friends for a long time to come!

    • Janet Ferguson Says:

I thought it was “Alfredo el Gato.”

(9 lives has Alfredo el Gato), etc.

This is just based on the song that went with the Disney show, understand.

. . . .in the land of big men when the Old West was wild,
Alfredo was small and his nature was mild,
      But the legend is that
      Of ‘el gato,’ the cat:
Nine lives had Alfredo el Gato!

      Alfredo was wise
      and Alfredo was strong
Alfredo el Gato he knew right from wrong. . .

      (etc.)

      😛

    • Janet Ferguson Says:

Louie you are correct: it is Diego. Now I wonder who Alfredo el Gato is. . . uh oh!

      Here’s Diego (Zorro)

  4. LOUIE COCROFT Says:

JANET, I KNOW MY “DIEGOS” WHEN I SEEM ‘EM. HOW EVER DID YOU FIND THIS? LOVE IT!
