Amen to this and he needs to be replaced with a REAL wildlife, wild lands, wild horses person, NOT a mere retread!

  2. Jill Says:

Nor a mere puppet to follow and obey the whims and wishes of corporations, the cattle and mining industries and the almighty dollar!

  3. Jan Eaker Says:

DC just announced criminal and civil charges will be made against BP, so who si going to file criminal and civil charges against DC????? for criminal negligence for their part in this. Salazar needs to go NOW, before 1 more horse is rounded up, he needs to GO!!!!

    • Jill Says:

What is the best and most appropriate to ask when calling the White House? for his removal or resignation?

  4. LOUIE COCROFT Says:

JILL, WHEN I CALL THE WHITE HOUSE, I TELL THEM THAT WE HAVE TO HAVE A MORATORIUM ON ALL WILD HORSE AND BURRO ROUND-UPS AND THAT WE MUST HAVE A CHANGE IN MANAGEMENT. THEY HAVE BEEN TAKEN OFF OF LAND THAT IS RIGHTFULLY THEIRS AND THAT WE MUST HAVE AN “IN THE WILD” MANAGEMENT PLAN IMPLEMENTED. ALSO, LET THEM KNOW HOW MUCH OF OUR TAX MONEY IS BEING SQUANDERED AND THAT THE PUBLIC LANDS ARE IN AS MUCH DANGER AS OUR OCEANS.

  5. Ann Lawrence Says:

This paragraph is from a White House release today 6/2/2010 — just insert “kill” for spill –remember the Wild Horse and Burro Act of 1971 –and that every horse in those pens is a victim.

“If the laws on our books are insufficient to prevent such a spill the laws must change. If oversight was inadequate to enforce these laws, oversight has to be reformed. If our laws were broken, leading to this death and destruction, my solemn pledge is that we will bring those responsible to justice on behalf of the victims of this catastrophe and the people of the Gulf.”

    Those are President Obama’s words.

Use it –call the White House and use it– I want justice for the horses–the WHaBA was broken– there is death and destruction–it’s a carastrophe to every horse in those pens.

Hopefully, this link will soon print my “soundoff” comment to Brian Williams on BlogTalk radio concerning his disregard for our wild horses and burros coverage.

    FYI
Here’s an e mail I just received from the BLM. Looks like we may be able to make a difference
    Donna

    Hello Donna Buscemi,
Americans are passionate about wild horses and burros, and there are many different, often conflicting, perspectives about how they should be managed. The BLM is committed to bridging these differences by working closely with our partners, stakeholders, the public and our employees to develop a strategy and find solutions that are best for wild horses and burros, wildlife, and the many other uses of the public lands. Over the next 60 days, we invite our interested stakeholders to offer their opinions and suggestions about the draft goals and objectives, as well as the series of possible management actions.

Please visit http://www.blm.gov for more information on the Wild Horse and Burro Strategy Development Document.

We value your input and look forward to any suggestions you may have to assist the BLM to improve the Wild Horse and Burro Program. Thank you for your interest and participation in this important effort.

There’s that little word, “stakeholders.” I believe this little word is THE MOST DETRIMENTAL word to emerge in our national language.

The little word, “stakeholders” represents a little club. That little club doesn’t include the American public.

      Correct me if I’m wrong.

    • Janet Ferguson Says:

There’s no “new day” where the Bureau of Land Management Wild Horse and Burro department is concerned.

Just another “new way” to scam the public into believing they give a s*&t.” Apparently I am unable to participate due to my preconceived ideas about this corrupt little club of money grubbing, tax-dollar wasting, cattle loving creeps who like to torture and kill wild horses and burros.

Sleep well, BLM, your time is coming.

    • Robin Bailey Says:

Hey guys, I just got the same email a little while ago.

  8. Donna Buscemi Says:

    Janet,
I think we have NOTHING to lose by reading their proposal and offering suggestions but EVERYTHING to gain. I’m gonna give it a try! And I hope you and all of the “Wild Herd” advocates do the same. We can’t quit now, please don’t give up. If you give up then they definitely win and the horses/burros continue to lose.
    Donna
