BLM Advisory Board Meeting- Save the Date

BLM WILD HORSE AND BURRO ADVISORY BOARD MEETING – Tentatively scheduled for June 14 & 15, 2010 in Denver, Colorado.

This should be posted on Federal Register soon for more details. Please save the date, this is an important opportunity to speak out for the horses and burros.  Please encourage the press to attend as well- especially for the public comment period.

If you are not able to attend please submit a written statement to the board. Comments may also be e-mailed to: Ramona_DeLorme@blm.gov . Those submitting comments electronically should include the identifier “WH&B Advisory Board Meeting Comments” in the subject of their message and their name and address in the body of the message.

Please show up for the horses and burros– you will likely have a 2-3 minute comment time allowed– but this will be an educational and informative meeting and we hope to have a lot of wild horse advocates present. This board has been stacked with special interest representatives for years and the public should witness the proceedings of our public advisory board to the BLM.

More news will be posted soon. Thank you.

[…] The Cloud Foundation has several important announcements of interest to all of us.  Click HERE and HERE. […]

  9. Janet Ferguson Says:

Is the Advisory Board directed to provide direction to the Wild Horse and Burro program?

i.e. Where can the public access all written directives provided BY the Advisory Board on Wild Horses and Burros TO The Bureau of Land Management’s Wild Horse and Burro program people so we may see exactly what part of our comments remain in place that are actually presented to the Bureau of Land Management.

If these communications FROM the Advisory Board TO the Bureau of Land Management are not public why not.

  10. Suzanne Says:

I HAVE A FRIEND UP HERE THAT NOW SAYS SHE IS ASHAMED TO SAY SHE LIVES IN AMERICA – FOR ALL THE HORRIBLE THINGS OUR GOVT IS DOING – NONE OF WHICH IS THE WISH OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE – WE ARE NOT ALLOWED TO HAVE A SAY IN ANYTHING ANYMORE – OR NO ONE IN WASHINGTON CARES OR LISTENS

  13. LOUIE COCROFT Says:

WE SHOULD ALL PETITION FOR A ROUND TABLE MEETING. THEY WOULD BE MUCH MORE PRODUCTIVE.

    • Roxy Says:

Louie, I understand the the 14th is a Workshop Day with advocates. That is all I have heard and do not know any details. There is the BLM statement about it on their website and on R.T.s site also.

  14. LOUIE COCROFT Says:

ROXY, IS THIS IN ADDITION TO OR INSTEAD OF THEIR REGULAR BOARD MEETING? I SURE WOULD LIKE TO SEE SOMETHING DIFFERENT THAN THE ONE THEY HELD IN DECEMBER.

    • Roxy Says:

Yes, it is in addition – the day before the regular scheduled advisory board. It is focused only on Salzoo though – which is important. And no details given about how it will be conducted – hopefully it will be on line for us to see.

I did see your other post, and agree completly about the way the advisory board is conducted. I’ve been on the gov side and on the private sector side of similar boards at state and city level and never have I witnessed anything like the BLM Advisory Board. They need to read their charter and get on board – set up a round table with a microphone, like you said so the speakers can sit down at the same level as the board.

  15. LOUIE COCROFT Says:

ROXY, THANK YOU. I DON’T THINK THEY HAVE EVER HAD THIS MANY PAYING ATTENTION TO WHAT THEY DO.
