Folks who text MUSTANG will receive a message back with a link (click here to see) so that folks can learn more and take action to preserve and protect our wild herds of burros and mustangs. “Texters” will then receive periodic important notices as action is needed on specific roundups etc. Thanks to American Wild Horse Preservation Campaign, an umbrella organization representing over 50 organizations for organizing this! If you are interested in helping to fundraise for additional billboards please contact the Cloud Foundation (info@thecloudfoundation.org).

I-65 Billboard is up in Kentucky! But please don't text & drive

  1. Lisa Norman Says:

The billboards are fantastic idea and texting urgent action requests (like earlier this month when we had 2 days to call all congressional members of the appropriation committee) will be helpful. I know the public is becoming more informed and aware, my concerns are “why isn’t our government listening”, “why isn’t congress or dept. of justice doing something to stop this”? It is illegal and corrupt on so many levels it’s ridiculous – doesn’t feel like a democracy to me.

  2. Linda H Says:

Wow! Can we get more sponsors in more cities all across the country? This is presence.

  3. Karen L. Says:

The billboards are an excellent idea! We need them along all the main U.S. highways.

  4. Linda Says:

This is such a great way to get the word out. Blitz, and blitz, and blitz some more!

WAY TO GO KENTUCKY! ON ONE THE RECENT RADIO SHOWS WITH GINGER, A WOMAN CALLED IN FROM ONE OF THE EASTERN STATES. SHE SAID THAT PEOPLE IN THE EAST WERE JUST LEARNING ABOUT THIS AND THEY ARE FURIOUS.

  7. KA Schaaf(kasohio) Says:

Woo Hoo- go Kentucky! Where abouts on I65 is the billboard?

  8. LOUIE COCROFT Says:

MAR, YOU REMEMBERED. THERE ARE SO MANY PEOPLE THAT WANT TO HELP. THEY JUST HADN’T KNOWN BEFORE.

  9. Kathryn Baker Says:

This is a great idea! I had the same idea but wanted to put large signs in shopping malls all over the country to get to the American people. Of course, I don’t have the money to do it so it remained just an idea.
I’m so glad that you all put this into action! I know it will be successful.

Billboards and signs at malls are both great ideas.

Some folks may think I’m weird, but many of my best ideas come from “waking dreams”. Its a kind of “creative visualization” thing.
This morning’s idea was movie theaters.

Theaters don’t get much revenue from movie distributors, they make their profits on those 25-cent bags of popcorn that cost $3(!), and from the often boring photo and film clip ads they run before the shows.

My point is, people are already there to WATCH something. Why not give them something beautiful and IMPORTANT to watch?

Is there a full-length feature in the works? I wonder if they’ll submit to well-known film festivals like Robert Redford’s “Sundance”? I know they have festivals in Telluride, CO, and Santa Fe, NM, that show “smaller” independent productions, and there are lots of others around the country. Matt Damon (“All the Pretty Horses”) is an advocate/supporter of independent filmmaking.

Maybe the folks making “Wild Horse Annie” are going to submit to festivals. That’s where many films pick up distributors.

      Just something else to consider.

Disappointment Valley, which was pre-screened for us in DC has been at the Santa Fe and Santa Barbara Film Festivals. It is a dynamic film with beautiful video of the horses in SW Colorado, Spring Creek Range. James Kleinert, the film-maker is from Telluride, so I think he is on top of this. It’s just not in its finalized version–hopefully he’ll use some footage from the protest–and now he’s looking for someone to take it and distribute it. Any takers out there?
It’ll be great if there are several films coming out in the next couple of years–really educate America and the world.

  10. LOUIE COCROFT Says:

LINDA, THAT IS NOT WEIRD–THAT IS THE WAY IT WORKS! WHAT A GOOD IDEA! THEY USED TO RUN NEWS REELS IN THEATERS. EVERYONE WENT TO SEE THEM.

  11. LOUIE COCROFT Says:

THAT IS WHAT THIS BLOG IS FOR–TO THROW IN IDEAS. IT’S A THINK TANK BLOG.
