  1. Barbara Warner Says:

This is nothing but sadistic murder of our wild horses and their foals. These poor mares would not be miscarrying if they had not been tortured by the roundup.
GMA should have told about all the deaths instead if having Salazar on telling lies. How can this be GOOD for the horses??!!!!

    • kas0859ohio Says:

I’m a pretty faithful follower of GMA, however, I was dismayed and disappointed that they would stick a 5 minute fluff piece on a Saturday morning. We all were hoping for national exposure about truth, the deaths, and the inhumane treatment of our wild horses. What we got was the same old crap the government folks keep spewing. Why did no one ask what happened to the mare they witnessed down in the transport vehicle? I suppose they were ‘ADVISED’ to keep the report simple and civil, lest they not be invited back. More transparency….

  2. Nora Morbeck Says:

If the horses coming in are in such poor condition, why would the BLM add insult to injury by pushing these “emaciated” horses for miles over rough terrain? Why torture them like that? Why not just allow the winter conditions to take their toll on the starving horses and let them die in the wild, where they were born and have every right to be?

Not that I believe many of these horses are actually starving. The “starvation” line is just BLM’s revolving door lie to justify their criminal behavior. After all, if starvation were the truth, they’d let more people into the facility and close to round up sites who could verify that claim.

If they’re so worried about the health of these animals, drop hay out on the range to help them through winter. Then, come spring, assess how many horses are actually out there, do a real environmental assessment, and make some decisions based on science and facts.

Mr. Salazar clearly isn’t in his office to serve the American people and their interests. He’s there to serve himself and special interests. He needs to be fired.

    • Suzanne Moore Says:

I agree, Nora. If these mares were in such bad condition they needed to be put down “as an act of mercy,” how in the bloody h**l did they make it to the holding pens alive? More lies.

If the horses are starving, why do they need rounding up? Just letting nature take it’s course would be much more humane. On the other hand, if they are NOT starving, as the BLM claims, why did this roundup have to happen in the dead of winter after the judge strongly advised the BLM not to do it?

  3. Karen L. Says:

Extremely disheartening. What is going on with the IDA lawsuit—does anyone know?

    • kas0859ohio Says:

I hate to think of the deaths of our horses under BLM control as sacrifices, but that’s what they will become. Martyrs, for the needs of the many. I am so bewildered and disheartened. I MUST get back on track! What is up with the lawsuit?

      • Marilyn Wargo Says:

They are to come back to court in April, this is posted at In Defense Of Animals site. They must address the issue of long term holding. The judge said he will have a decision following by June. It still does not save these horses or the Eagle herds to be captured this month. I hope a similar action will be taken to stop the Eagle roundup.. each try they learn more. Check IDA for more details. mar

There is so much more to this story than what is being told, the media loves gore-show them pictures and gore, and illustrate the lies being told by the BLM-prove the waste of taxpayer dollars-prove statistically it is a huge waste of taxpayer dollars to do it this way now and over the long term.. point out what happen at the 3 strikes ranch in Nebraska..the starvation and or death of 176 horses when the horses reached their final destination…the lack of oversight at a private ranch…where observers can’t go on the facilities to alert or protest the care of those horses…this whole plan of Salazars is full of holes from begining to end-this will bring in those who do not care about the horses-but do care about the money being wasted

    • Marilyn Wargo Says:

When Mother Jones failed to challenge the myths handed them concerning wild horses and they accepted the word of a government agency at face value, all I can say is the Independent Press in this country is hurting and not doing their job. George Knapp, bless him, has been wonderful and our own outspoken Steven Long have been consistent and understand what is happening. There are others who just have not been allowed to run with the story yet. Maybe they will get their chance. I hope that they will. mar

  5. sandra longley Says:

Fox news would probably love to sink their teeth into this story…for political purposes..of course ,they wouldn’t give a damn about the horses-but they would go for the jugular on the waste of taxpayer dollars…its good political gumbo…and I don’t care who has to be sacrificed in order to stop this immediately…there is no time to wait for the courts, political pressure will get something done…If the democrats have to be thrown to the lions…so be it…The view, may be willing to give this some coverage as well, Barbra and whoopee are both pet lovers, and hey, Oprah has a farm ,horses and is an animal lover…We need the spotlight on this to make the politicians uncomfortable.

  6. sandra longley Says:

I went to Salazars facebook page and posted publically-lets see how long he leaves peoples posts up…he does not address the roundup anywhere i could see…so just post under the first blog, I e-mailed the whitehouse, harry reid and my states senators…need more to do…..

  7. LOUIE COCROFT Says:

APPARENTLY, HARRY REID WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE HORSE SLAUGHTER ACT IN THE FIRST PLACE–BURNS JUST ADDED THE WORDING. GOT THIS FROM ONE OF PEOPLE FROM EQUINE WELFARE ALLIANCE. THEY JUST FOUND OUT NOT TOO LONG AGO.

  8. LOUIE COCROFT Says:

EQUINE WELFARE ALLIANCE HAS QUITE A BIT ON THE SLAUGHTER CONSPIRACY. THEY TOLD ME THAT REID WAS BEHIND IT. WE NEED TO KNOW MORE ABOUT WHO’S BEHIND WHAT. WE’VE BEEN GOING TO THE WRONG PEOPLE FOR HELP. IT IS THE PUBLIC THAT NEEDS TO KNOW.

  9. LOUIE COCROFT Says:

SANDRA, GO BACK ONE–TO THE GOOD MORNING AMERICA POSTING. MARILYN WARGO (MAR) LISTED A WHOLE PAGE OF MEDIA CONTACTS WHERE YOU CAN WRITE OR SEND POST CARDS.

  10. LOUIE COCROFT Says:

KAREN, ONE THING THAT THIS DOES IS WEED OUT THE BAD ONES AND THEN WE KNOW WHO THE THE GOOD ONES ARE.

    • Karen L. Says:

Oh, yeah, the conspiratorial nature of their dealings was exceeded only by the modus operandi of the BLM itself. I just love Steven Long’s folksy style as he leads Burns down the proverbial garden path…

  11. LOUIE COCROFT Says:

ANYONE THAT WANTS SOME EXERCISE AND FEELS LIKE UNLEASHING–GO OVER TO THE LAHONTAN VALLEY NEWS. THERE ARE A COUPLE OF SNIPERS THERE THAT DON’T THINK OUR INFORMATION IS ACCURATE AND WANT MORE PROOF OF WHAT WE SAY. GIVE THEM SOME MORE INFORMATION–LOTS MORE INFORMATION.
