Pipelines are all over the country and the Western landscape. They do not need to have special attention paid to any animals that live along the right of ways. If anything BLM has used the Ruby pipeline as an internal excuse to be rid of horses. I do not think the cattle will be kept out. They want to begin this Spring claiming they will do Environmental and Archeological Assessments and make any adjustments along the way!! That is impossible to do with a project like that. There is so much bull attached to all this and NO good reason for the horses to be taken from a range where they had Met The Criteria of BLM. Imagine, the horses were doing so well and no damage to the range that BLM was shocked to find there were more horses there than they had believed!! mar
Agree Mar–pipelines should not be the excuse to remove healthy horses. Same with wind generators–I saw a large grouping of them on a mountaintop in West Virginia right next to hunting camps. No problems there. Better seeing wind generators than mountaintop removal!
Louie, NO, The Horses Are Not In the Way!!! Roger has worked on pipelines in Colorado/Utah and even close to wild horses and they were fine. No animals were being restricted even after the pipeline was done cattle were grazing along them. This is another smokescreen and there is nothing the horses are in the way of. They would move away from all the activity any way. This is another excuse using any means to be rid of wild horses. mar
Yes, there is an issue of water which is scarce there and what may be done with it and what may become of it, scarcer, and pollution of ground water. Sorry… many critters may be badly impacted by this. Mar
