Wednesday – Call in Day for Wild Horses & Burros– Support Nationwide Protests with your call

CALL IN DAY FOR WILD HORSES — NEW PSA HERE with Sheryl Crow & Viggo Mortensen

1. Please telephone Senator Reid of Nevada at 202-224-3542

Ask to speak with the person taking calls on wild horses and burros.

Politely tell the person taking the call that you are calling about the wild horse roundup going on right now in Senator Reid’s state of Nevada, and to ask the Senator  to please intervene as a matter of extreme urgency, and get it stopped immediately. Reid is allowing a national treasure to be destroyed in his state.

2. Please telephone Sen. Dianne Feinstein at (202) 224-3841.

Ask to speak with the person taking calls on wild horses and burro- remember that Feinstein is a friend

Politely tell the person taking the call that you are calling about the wild horse roundup going on right now in Nevada, and to ask Senator Feinstein (a friend to our wild horses) to please intervene as a matter of extreme urgency, and get it stopped immediately.

3. Please telephone President Obama: (202) 456-1111.

Tell the person answering the phone you are calling about our wild horses and burros, and ask the President to (1) order an immediate halt to the roundup going on right now in Nevada, and (2) order a moratorium on all roundups of our wild horses and burros until Congress decides the future of the wild horse and burro program.

Can’t call? Phone calls are highly preferred, but you can also fax or email the messages above.

Fax Sen. Feinstein: (202) 228-3954
Email Sen. Dianne Feinsteinhttp://feinstein.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=ContactUS.EmailMe

Fax the President: 202-456-2461
Email the Presidenthttp://www.whitehouse.gov/contact

Already called a dozen times? Please call again. A bit nervous? Relax and practice what you are going to say a few times till you feel comfortable, take a deep breath and dial that number!

Our wild horses and burros are in clear and present danger of extinction, and it is up to all of us who really care to change their destiny. But you must act, and act now. Thinking, oh well, thousands are probably calling already? They are. Or that your call doesn’t matter? It does.

Think about this before you close this email message.

If you were a mare or foal, brutally removed from your wilderness home in freezing conditions, hurt, bruised, terrified and possibly dying, wouldn’t you want every single person who knew about it to come to your aid any way they knew how? The answer to that surely is yes.

On their behalf, we thank you. … thanks to Int’l Fund for Horses for putting together this post!

remember to watch NEW PSA HERE with Sheryl Crow & Viggo Mortensen!

Made my phone calls this AM – was told Sen. Feinstein’s office has already rec’d alot of calls. Talked to very nice people – very encouraging. Called Reid in Nevada and DC office. No one in yet in Nevada, so left a voice mail but will follow up with another call this afternoon. Is it ok to call numerous times throughout the day? I hope so – I really want them all to hear us roar!!

  5. sara gill Says:

Sara Gill Mortenson this is so important, it is not only about the horses it’s about the gov. listening to the people. not just the few with deep pockets. i don’t think enough people understand how important this matter is.

  6. Nancy Roberts Says:

Here’s what happened to me. I couldn’t get through to Reid through that number, message saying ” No service blah blah….” So in a round a bout way I discovered this number which gets you through to the guys voice mail. 202-224-3542. Next I called California, they were nice and asked for my zip code. Can’t get through to the president, keep being put on hold. I’ll keep trying! We can do this!

i contacted several people on fox news – and it was on fox news i saw one roundup and of course the lies by blm that they tell the media – today another word about the protest this was on our local station channel 9 in los angeles – they are affiliated with cbs – again lies about the blm is rounding up horses because of over grazing – and how people are worried about the horses – one blm spokesman said about 1% of horses may be injured – well one percent is too much – i did manage to tape that – cking news and will run down and tape it when i see it – raining here in calif so dont know how turnout will be in san francisco

  12. LOUIE COCROFT Says:

ANXIOUS TO SEE HOW MANY DO TURN OUT FOR SAN FRANCISCO PROTEST–THEY ARE USED TO RAIN AND FOG. IT IS A PRETTY PROGRESSIVE AREA AND FILLED WITH PEOPLE WHO DON’T MIND GETTING WET, MUCH LIKE SEATTLE. FROM WHAT I HAVE HEARD, EVEN THEIR ANIMAL SHELTERS ARE ALMOST EMPTY BECAUSE THE PEOPLE THERE ARE VERY PRO-ACTIVE. IF YOU SEE A DOG OR CAT ANYWHERE, IT USUALLY BELONGS TO SOMEONE. PEOPLE WHO HAVE TO LIVE IN CITIES APPRECIATE THE BEAUTY OF WILDERNESS AND THE ANIMALS IN IT–THEY DON’T TAKE IT FOR GRANTED.

  13. jan sterling Says:

since we getting rain here – maybe nevada will get snow – and they will have to stop the roundup

    prayer works

  14. LOUIE COCROFT Says:

    IT SURE DOES!
