Senator Reid is currently allowing a real Nevada economic treasure to be shipped off to other states where Salazar wants to possibly use them for ecotourism. The horses need to stay on their lands. This massive roundup is clearly a gift to a few public lands ranchers- dozens of Nevadans are calling his DC office today.
A protest took place yesterday in Las Vegas. Big protest in San Fran planned for Wednesday, others in London, Denver, Chicago too. Another in Las Vegas possible, one in Reno? Picket at Reid’s office? BLM said that the roundups were open to all the public but no one has been able to watch a roundup since Don Glenn made that statement on Dec 7th (IDA observer denied access to Oregon Roundup, Calico roundups not observable for “two-three weeks” … and no one knew about the Buckhorn roundup. At least 3 horses have died so far in these roundups, what is BLM trying to hide?
Nevadans: Call Senator Reid in DC today on his toll-free number– 1-866-SEN-REID (736-7343) (that is where he is), follow-up with your local office! It only takes a second and please have your family and friend’s call too. Fine to call again– Calico roundup started today, no public allowed to watch for 2-3 weeks but BLM working on getting public a few days to watch here and there. This is unacceptable.
