    I AM SO MAD ABOUT THE INHUMANE WINTER ROUNDUP OF THE CALICO WILD HORSES, THAT I AND FIVE FRIENDS ARE GOING TO PICKET THE ENTRANCE TO RED ROCK CANYON, LAS VEGAS AT 1PM DECEMBER 26. ANYONE OUT THERE WANT TO JOIN US? CALL ARLENE GAWNE AT 702-277-1313 FOR DETAILS.

    IT IS TIME THAT WE TAXPAYERS STAND UP AND SAY NO MORE TAXPAYER DOLLARS FOR INHUMANE ROUNDUPS AND PENNING OF MUSTANGS. THIS IS A BLACK EYE FOR THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION. TIME TO BRING IT OUT IN THE OPEN.

    OPEN LETTER TO GOD AND OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST;

    Dear God, I pray this day that you take a hand in this manner and show your will to keep these animals safe from harm…………..When you created this earth, you gave us charge over the animals. Dear Jesus we are not doing a good job at this time, as the animals you left us in charge are being mistreated and are often in harms way. Whatever must you think of us now. I am so ashamed of what is happening and ask you to do your will and punish these people for whatever harm comes to the helpless animals left in our charge. Nancy

    Just putting this here with the reading (not a blog, but, for reference or whatever. . . ) Here is a link (hopefully it will work) to view SB 1579, the proposed changes referred to as The ROAM Act. These changes include the Salazoos.

    This is what Laura Allen (www.animallawcoalition.org, “The Problem With ROAM”) suggests you can do to help rectify the weaknesses she feels are part of the ROAM legislation.

    “WHAT YOU CAN DO
    Write or call your U.S. representative and senators and urge them to support a moratorium on all gathers and removals of wild horses and burros pending decisions by Congress on the role of the BLM and the course of the wild horses and burros program.  Urge them to investigate and hold a hearing to reconsider some of ROAM’s provisions:  (1) amend to keep the current WFRHBA provision that wild horses and burros shall have the right to live in herds on lands where they were living in 1971 and return these animals currently held in holding pens to these ranges and herd areas , (2) remove the multiple use concept language from the definition of “thriving ecological balance” and provide similar to the current provisions, that horses can only be removed to a preserve or sanctuary in the event of overpopulation, and (3) strengthen the current mandate that herds can remain self-sustaining and must be genetically viable.”

    Not only your reps, but the following as well:

    This is the webpage for the Committee of Natural Resources. I believe they have to approve what Department of Interior and BLM do.

    There is a button at the bottom left that says, ‘Contact Us’. Please do on the subject of Stopping the Wild Horse Round ups and releasing those horses unsold back into their respective territories. Ban sale of the Wild Horses and Burros for slaughter.

    If you have the time, please contact as many of the members and PARTICULARLY the WILDLIFE COMMITTEE/SUBCOMMITTEE to state your feelings on the Wild Horse Roundups!!!

    Please share this information with EVERYONE you know – U.S. and Abroad.
