    The Burns Amendment and his comment have gone down in infamy… This is the most infuriating thing and it must be knocked out of play. This is the time. Sign all petitions for the Moratorium and tell your Congress Critters to demand the Burns Amendment be thrown out.

    I hope there will be some kind of meeting for all us advocates to attend and talk about the BLM Advisory Board meeting and the Calico Complex Roundups and all wild horse and burro activity.. when we all come into Reno with our pens smoking! I think we should get together some place and meet one another, get more info under our belts and have a course of action that is appropriate to the situation which may change due to outside influences at any time!!! mar

    I sent an email to both Horse Power and BLM asking where the Sept. BLM Advisory Board meeting and comments can be found. No answer from either?

    I will be attending the Advisory Board Meeting on December 7th. We are a very strong army & a force to be reckoned with. Though the Advisory Board may be pawns in DOI and BLM games, we can show the BLM Advisory Board that the American people CAN come together in a united front, fighting for our rights to save OUR national treasures. America & all her glorious wonders belong to the people. The government serves these people. This country is NOT owned by the few rich & powerful. Our enemies & foreign interest groups will not be allowed to take anymore American soil from her people. We will NOT be ignored, pushed aside & trampled upon. We will not stand by and just let those few rich & powerful destroy this beautiful nation, nor will we let them take away our foundational liberties, justice and independent voices!

    Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord;
    He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored;
    He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword;
    His truth is marching on.
    Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
    Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! His truth is marching on.

    I have seen Him in the watch fires of a hundred circling camps
    They have builded Him an altar in the evening dews and damps;
    I can read His righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps;
    His day is marching on.
    Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
    Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! His day is marching on.

    I have read a fiery Gospel writ in burnished rows of steel;
    “As ye deal with My contemners, so with you My grace shall deal”;
    Let the Hero, born of woman, crush the serpent with His heel,
    Since God is marching on.
    Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
    Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Since God is marching on.

    He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat;
    He is sifting out the hearts of men before His judgment seat;
    Oh, be swift, my soul, to answer Him! be jubilant, my feet;
    Our God is marching on.
    Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
    Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Our God is marching on.

    In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea,
    With a glory in His bosom that transfigures you and me:
    As He died to make men holy, let us live to make men free;
    [originally …let us die to make men free]
    While God is marching on.
    Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
    Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! While God is marching on.

    He is coming like the glory of the morning on the wave,
    He is wisdom to the mighty, He is honor to the brave;
    So the world shall be His footstool, and the soul of wrong His slave,
    Our God is marching on.
    Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
    Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Our God is marching on.

    Thank you for that, Morgan! I play “Battle Hymn of the Republic” at least weekly on my old upright piano, but I NEVER saw the last verse before! Christians have some great marching songs, too – “Sound the Battle Cry” and “Onward Christian Soldiers”. Here’s another good one, much more modern – “This Is My Country”. It begins:

    Breathes there a man, with soul so dead,
    Who never to himself has said,
    This is my own, my native land,
    This is my native land.

    The Senate is deadlocked, the President is overwhelmed. Only the House of Representatives is responsive to the citizens. I think even with no further help from Washington, we, the people can handle this on our own in the courts. The country east of the Mississippi is united with you in the West and supports you in all things. We will be with you in spirit December 7!

    Here is my question. In the Midwest Conservation Officers, part of the Department of Natural Resources on the state level, form the law enforcement arm for the wild animals, making sure they are only hunted in season, etc. Who is the law enforcement arm in the West for the wild horses and burros? They are not wild animals that are hunted. This is what I wrote several weeks ago to the people on my “Friends and Relatives” list: “In the ten western states containing wild horse and burro habitat, we need groups of tough, mounted and armed, law enforcement officers of impeccable background and sterling character to serve as bodyguards for our horses and burros.” When the wild horses and burros are back on their legal ranges, and they WILL be, they will need protection from what I call the despicable loonies of the West (someone else called them “Armchair Anarchists”, which I thought was great) as well as the “soldiers” of special interests and Corporate America. Fines for harming them should be raised and jail sentences should be lengthened. We have to find a way to make them safer than they have been in the past.
