  1. Marilyn Wargo Says:

All of these comments contain such truth and eloquent defence of our wild horses and burros who now depend upon all of us to survive in the wild upon their own range. These comments reveal the intentions, direction and activities of BLM over these past years. Our wild ones are not safe within their management and all roundups and removals of horses and burros must cease, now. mar

  2. Louie Cocroft Says:

CALLED WINNEMUCCA DISTRICT OFFICE TO OBJECT TO ROUND-UP (ALSO WROTE A LETTER) AND PERSON WHO ANSWERED PHONE WAS ANYTHING BUT WARM AND FRIENDLY. WONDERED WHETHER THEY HAVE BEEN GETTING LOTS OF CALLS. WAS TOLD THAT I COULDN’T MAKE OBJECTIONS OVER THE PHONE–HAD TO BE WRITTEN OR
    E-MAILED.

  3. Barbara Steele Says:

I would hope all these comments would be sent en mass to the Government Accounting Office and the Dept of Justice. It’s pretty obvious that the BLM under the auspices of the Dept of Interior is proceeding with their own agenda and need to be exposed for their deception and misuse of the taxpayer’s dollars in their pursuit of our wild horses.
I emailed my comments but the one’s here really call out BLM for their failures and obvious support of the big cattle lobby.

    • Janet Ferguson Says:

Absolutely I am with you on that very point! We need to provide copies of comments to GAO & Dept. of Justice. I saw a Dept. of Justice name (email link) here but does anyone have a GAO contact name?

Hopefully the above “heavy hitters” will copy in the agencies you suggest.

  4. lee chesterfield Says:

I believe the agenda is coming from the White House.
Obama appointed Salazar “his friend” knowing Salazar has built his career on helping the farmer and cattlemen. Salazar and his family are ranchers. Salazar is a strong supportor of horse slaughter in the U.S
Our Government has a history of giving land to the Native Americans Then taking the land back . If the Gov. will do this to the Native Americans. Its nothing to wipeout the mustangs to take back the land that was designated for them.

  5. Louie Cocroft Says:

I AM THANKFUL THAT OUR WILD HORSES AND BURROS HAVE SUCH QUALITY PEOPLE ON THEIR SIDE. THESE ARE THE PEOPLE WHO SHOULD BE IN THE DECISION-MAKING PROCESS AND IN THE DECISION-MAKING POSITIONS. THE REST OF US NEED TO KEEP HERDING THE BUREAUCRATS INTO THE PENS.

  6. Janet Ferguson Says:

Thank you Cloud Foundation for providing these ready references for us all!

  7. Neysa A. Phillippi Says:

Have all these letters been sent to the President, the US Senators the House Representatives also? If not they should be sent to anyone in office that needs to see and read what the public wants.

They need sent to the news stations the papers, magazines… Don’t leave it to the BLM to possibly bury these letters.

    We need to be heard!

  8. Suzanne Moore Says:

What’s really worrying me is that our elected officials already know what we want. They just won’t – or can’t – do anything about it.

  9. Karen L. Says:

The GAO, Government Accountability Office, works for Congress at the request of Congress, essentially. I think that the comments on the Calico EA should be forwarded to our respective Senators and to the Senate Committee on Energy and Environmental Resources (where S.1579 is being considered) for maximum impact. These people have the power to call for investigations based upon pertinent information, whether the hearings/investigations are actually Congressional or are sent to the GAO for their further study.

Here’s a link to the functions of the GAO.

    • Barbara Steele Says:

Okay, back to sending comments to government officials that send back canned replies. There is a saying that to get the attention of a *mule you have to hit him in the head with a 2×4!lol so how do we get a “real” person to even engage in a conversation about the subject if they aren’t listening. Will go back to the phone and try that approach again—
      “frustrated in PA”

  11. Marilyn Wargo Says:

Barb, I think the phone will help at this time. We can keep asking why haven’t you looked into this after all these months? There will be a campaign for the South Steens Mountain herd from TCF and the Calico upcoming. have you ever attempted to make an appointment to see a president? Mar
