Please share your comments you present at the meeting in Reno somewhere, perhaps on this blog, because BLM sure won’t share with us!

Has anyone ever tried contacting schools in their area about the children writing letters? I am not sure if the schools would even participate, but it might be worth a shot. It seemed to help Wild Horse Annie. I am going to send a letter encouraging our local schools to send letters to our Wyoming reps.

On another note, does anyone know the current terms of the people on the Wild Horse & Burro Board? How do we know our e-mail comments will be read at the December meeting?

    • Laura Evans Says:

My daughter found a book on wild horses in her library and it had two pages on Wild Horse Annie and the school children. She took it to her teacher and asked if they could do that and he told her no. However, when I went to her school and told the principal and her teacher about her interview with Ginger and that my daughter is planning to start a Cloud Fan Club they said that they would put it in our local newspaper. When she’s home for fall break that’s what we’re going to do. Another way that kids can help is by downloading the petition on the Kid’s Corner link and having all of their friends and family sign it. With the Holidays coming up there’s a perfect opportunity for them to get lots of signatures.

I have a link to them which may show the terms — will post when I find

I tried 3 local schools. One school I put together a complete package of 99 pre-addressed postcards, postage & two books by M. Henry. Brighty of Grand Canyon & Mustangs of The West. Lots of reasons for saying ‘no’ were given.

This seems to be good news, unless he signs on for another term:

    Wildlife Management
    Mr. Larry Johnson
    Black Eagle Consulting, Inc.
    1345 Capital Boulevard, Suite A
    Reno, NV 89502-7140
    (Term Expires: 11/06/2009)

I would like to pose 2 questions to you all! The holidays are approaching. Some or all of us will be swept away into family, activities & thankgiving to God. Still, war rages on for the wild American Mustangs and desert Burros. We may not be able to give the 1000% focus every single day, but we must not forget.

There is no right or wrong answer. You can share your answers or keep them private!

    1. What is your motive for joining the fight?
    2. How will you remain a strong solider in the battle?

  9. Janet Ferguson Says:

My motive is that they have no words or ways to fight; we have to fight for them. Plus they belong on the land.

Others in the battle give me strength when I hear their words and see their actions

  10. Marilyn Wargo Says:

I think we have all learned things, no matter how long we have been in this. We are learning strategies and applying our knowledge which has grown so much, right here. Having time to think and not just react will help all of us, Morgan, we can’t let the momentum slip or the pressure lessen, tho’ no matter what we are up to. We are coming and going but not stopping our fight.

I hope the ponies at Assateague and Chincoteague are safe from the storm waves and winds that have threatened them overnight. Mar

This guy’s also “going off” according to this list on their website:

      Livestock Management
      Mr. Gary Zakotnik
68A Eden West 1st South Road
      Eden, Wyoming 82932
      (Term Expires: 11/06/2009)

    • Janet Ferguson Says:

Louie, here is a link to all the info the BLM has made available on their website regarding the Advisory Boards:

You may contact them with your questions direct — I don’t know the answer to your question “off the bat” however, there is a “Contact Us”
tab at the bottom of the page which will create an email form or take you to a link where you can email your questions to them. The board is volunteer and they pay expenses for the members travel costs to attend the meetings.

This is the correct mailing address for Ramona DeLorme:

I copied this from an email I received from her on 9/17/09
