The next issue of Horseback Magazine will be primarily devoted to the wild horses and the roundup of Cloud’s herd that has so highlighted BLM’s continuing mismanagement of our wild horses.

    By the way, a few weeks ago I came across the topic of “shale” as an energy resource and the locations of the shale fields in the US. The above organization has an article under its “Action” tab regarding a big lawsuit involving the Obama Administration/shale energy production, art. dated 9/15/09.

    If you google shale or shale reserves or something you might find that map — there’s shale in Montana, TOO. If I can find my map I’ll put the link on here. . . .

      Here’s an article how Shell Oil feels oil shale farming is not a viable resource for energy production. A hopeful sign.

    Oil shale is very dirty to mine and like oil sands uses tons of water and pollutes it. They keep trying to find less expensive ways to do it but haven’t. Mountain States Legal is on a list I have for Bush Era organizations that support and defend the oil and gas industry. Very far right. Mar
