IT SEEMS AS THOUGH THE PRIVATE RANCH WOULD BE LIABLE FOR WHATEVER HAPPENS TO OUR HORSES. COULD THAT RANCH BE INCLUDED IN THE LAWSUIT?

My thought, above needs to be corrected. IF liability issues are the cause of not allowing the public onto the private land BLM is occupying here, then it seems to me that maybe some lawyer could draw up a hold harmless agreement for the advocates and the property owners.

The property owner(s) could be anyone — a municipality, a foreign business, a church, or anything — private just means it isn’t “public” (US gov’t owned). They could be a BLM employee or group of BLM employees.

But if BLM’s contract with this entity for using their land states that they nor the owner of the land are protected from liability issues arising from the presence of the humane advocates at the facility, then it seems that something could be done on behalf of the humane advocates, like a hold harmless agreement or something.

I find it hard to believe that private property issues are anywhere near the truth on why viewing is being curtailed.

If the gov’t leases the facilities or land or what have you, I am sure the property owner is fully protected from any and all liability issues stemming from the presence of non-gov’t employees.

This is just more hogwash. So I don’t know the whole story, but I can smell hogwash a mile away.
