I wonder why the “national” horse publcations haven’t spoken up on this. It seems like a very important issue and so far I haven’t read anything about this subject, except for Horseback Magazine. I get a couple of the “big” magazines and . . .nothing. Also, why hasn’t any of the breed organizations jumped on board? What are they afraid of? They need to support this issue which affects all horsemen everywhere.

Why han’t anyone stepped up to organize a concert to help feed these wild horses like Willie Nelson did with farm-aide I am sure with enough entertainers the turn out would be outstanding and all the tickets sold could help buy hay, oats and buy the fuel for the helicopters to drop this food far away to nourish all these mustangs…This is just a thought. People forget the horses were here in Nevada way before the subdivisions were built…also so were the mountain lions, bears and etc..

Louie, make a sign, any sign and put it on your lawn or car or person or in your local paper…. These people also want to dart horses with PZP from helicopters… That is very short sighted. You want signs, you should make them and ask to put them places. No illegal signs, just signs that have permission. Save Our Wild Horses and Burros… Mar

mar, did i imagine it or was there a sign that people could put in their yards with a photo of conquistador behind bars? i think it was with the teeshirts, cofi mugs, & bumperstickers that were available through cafepress.com…..hmmm. i’ll have to look for that & see if it’s still available (or if i just dreamed that thing up).

You ask your town clerk for what the local sign laws are. You can even get a permit to protest ’something’ and walk with a sign on certain hours of the day to express free speech. Most places allow you to do this but want you to behave. Mar

I’ve posted articles, etc on local feed store bulletin boards, these are geared directly to the horse people. I’m also sending a letter to Tractor Supply Stores and craig’s list. No attempt to educate is too small!

i watched online the blm meeting and don abbey telling madeline pickens that the govt could not hand over 30,000 horses to a private citzen on a private reserve – there would have to be laws passed and it would take 2 or 3 years – wanted to shoot him thru the internet – but the blm sure thinks they can go ahead and keep rounding up more horses and hold them and then probably sell for slaughter – we need more media coverage – shd be on national news every nite so more people know – fox news, nbc, cbs, abc – people who know people contact the news media, magazines, newspapers – i belong to a group trying to restore a tv show and been sending all the postings frm various websites for horses to owner and he posts them all – this is an international group for a tv show – come on people – these are living breathing creatures that are suffering – if you had horses would you let them suffer – anyway his website is http://www.savesurface.com if you want to ck out all his postings – he was on fire to get tv show back – now he is posting for the horses
